A family in Woodbridge, Virginia, aimed to convert their large, underutilized basement into a multi-functional living area, including a home theater, a children’s play zone, and a guest bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, requiring a comprehensive design and permit-ready plans.
KDP Design Plus undertook a detailed design approach. We began with an on-site consultation and precise measurements of the Woodbridge property’s basement. Our team then developed space-efficient layouts, addressing specific client needs for entertainment, play, and guest accommodation. The design focused on creating distinct zones while maintaining an open feel, incorporating egress solutions for the bedroom, and planning for appropriate lighting and sound insulation for the home theater. We produced a full set of construction documents, including floor plans, electrical plans, RCPs (Reflected Ceiling Plans), and all specifications needed for permit submission in Prince William County.
